After hydration, the product forms a mouldable mass that offers unparalleled
ease of use by making it considerably easier to pick up and apply the material to the
bone defect. cerabone® plus is therefore unique in the field of dental biomaterials as the first sticky bone
straight from the pack.
cerabone® plus consists of the established bovine bone replacement material cerabone® and the
biopolymer sodium hyaluronate. Cerabone® plus thus combines the exceptional
volume stability of cerabone® with the well-researched biological properties of
hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic acid, an important component of hard and soft tissue, has gained enormously in importance in many medical
applications. The recombinant sodium hyaluronate used in cerabone® plus
is produced using state-of-the-art biotechnological
fermentation processes. Thanks to its pronounced ability to bind large quantities of liquid
, the hyaluronate in cerabone® plus forms a viscous substance after contact with aqueous solutions or blood
.
This enables the user to achieve efficient defect augmentation and time-saving application
as well as simple defect contouring, while at the same time reducing the displacement of individual
particles during administration.
after receiving CE certification in 2020, cerabone® plus was extensively tested in a limited
market release involving leading dental surgeons in more than 20 countries.
Both the clinical safety and the excellent handling properties were impressively confirmed in
. cerabone® plus is available in two different volumes, each with fine and
coarse granules.
In addition to the globally established product cerabone®, botiss is thus expanding its comprehensive
regeneration system with a further innovative bovine bone replacement material.

Host Prof. Dr Dr Norbert Kübler, Director of the Clinic for Oral, Maxillofacial and Plastic
Facial Surgery, together with the company Hager & Meisinger, hosted an exciting
programme mix. This year, the focus was on new dental therapy approaches and the
treatment of multimorbid patients. As host and
main organiser, Prof. Dr. Dr. Norbert Kübler welcomed the participants and moderated the
topic blocks.
In the first lecture of the day, Dr Mathias Höschel discussed the importance of aligner
therapy in orthodontics. Dr Dr Julian Lommen also provided information on
bisphosphonates and denosumab. An
presentation by Dr Frank Spitznagel also provided an exciting discussion on whether monolithic
restorations on teeth and implants are already ready for practical use. Insights into the evidence in periodontology within
the S3 guideline of the DG PARO were provided by Prof Dr Benjamin Ehmke. At the
conclusion of the lecture series, Prof Dr Jochen Jackowski focused on
multimorbid patients in the dental practice.
However, the event was not limited to current dental trends. The
breaks also provided ample opportunity for professional dialogue and a reunion
among colleagues. The event was also accompanied by a trade exhibition with 17
companies, which informed the audience about innovations from the industry.
Hands-on workshops
After completing the theoretical programme items, participants were able to expand their knowledge in the field of implantology in practical
hands-on workshops. A wide range of topics from various therapeutic approaches were offered at
. For example, Dr Harald
Hüskens and MegaGen introduced participants to immediate restoration in compromised
bone conditions, while Peter Marke and Geistlich Biomaterials introduced participants to
augmentation with umbrella screws. Immediate restoration concepts in the
fully digital workflow were the subject of Prof Dr Dr Norbert Enkling's workshop in
collaboration with SIC invent.
Participants received 6 continuing education points for attending the symposium and 3
additional continuing education points for participating in a workshop.

The MEISINGER Bone Management product line® contains coordinated
system solutions that enable controlled
optimisation of the bony implant site, regardless of the implant system used. The practical composition
of the sets offers users improved usability in everyday work and an intuitive
treatment procedure. The areas of application range from controlled root extraction with
simultaneous preservation of the bone lamella to minimally invasive bone condensing and bone
spreading through to bone grafting.
Since the last edition, the scope of the Bone Management® catalogue has grown significantly: on
more than 100 pages, users will find carefully compiled surgical assortments that
MEISINGER has developed in collaboration with renowned practitioners and scientists
. Among the highlights of the catalogue are the sets developed with Prof. Dr. Fouad Khoury
, which support the user in preparing the implant site with autologous
bone grafts. The Bone
Management® Micro Screw Basic and Professional systems and the Trephine Ejection Kit, which are part of the "Khoury Line",
are suitable for the "carrot technique", among other things. The Trephine Ejection Kit is used for the
minimally invasive removal of bone cylinders, while the
osteosynthesis screws contained in the Micro Screw Set ensure reliable fixation of the bone material.
The product line is complemented by three new instrument kits that have been tailored to the workflow for hard and soft tissue processing in collaboration with Prof.
Khoury
. The osteotomy set, for example, offers a perfect combination of specially configured
manual surgical instruments. The user will find the right hand instruments for
soft tissue processing in the soft tissue set. One of the special features of this
set is a scalpel blade holder with swivelling head, with which the scalpel angle can be freely adjusted depending
on the area to be treated. The new sinus set also includes
instruments coordinated with Prof Khoury, which help the user to gently prepare the
Schneiderian membrane as part of a sinus lift.
New course programme on bone augmentation
The new edition of the catalogue also offers an insight into the new course programme of the Bone
Management® Academy, which gives both experienced users and beginners the opportunity
to deal intensively with the topics of bone augmentation, implantology and content relating to
practice management and to undergo further training in this area. The
programme also includes special procedures such as the sausage technique according to Prof. Istvan Urban and techniques developed by
Prof. Fouad Khoury. All courses focus on providing participants with helpful procedures and tips that will help them in their day-to-day
work. If the participants find certain techniques useful, the
corresponding products can first be tried out and rehearsed intensively in workshops. During
additional observation and supervision sessions, the various learning contents can be explored in greater depth
so that a conscious decision can then be made.
The first courses will start in autumn 2021 at various locations across Germany. The Bone Management® Roadshow 2021/22 will provide further exciting insights into the topics of bone splitting, bone spreading and synthetic bone replacement materials.

An outstanding CAD/CAM restoration begins with optimal preparation and ends
with a flawless polish. In the new edition of the preparation and polishing compass
, MEISINGER presents system solutions developed with leading practitioners that precisely address the
properties of various materials. One innovation is the new
Psychedelic Kit, which MEISINGER has launched in collaboration with the internationally renowned
dental technician Klaus Müterthies. The Psychedelic Kit offers
users a customised selection of instruments for zirconia and CAD/CAM restorations.
The ceramic grinders included in the kit are used to shape the tooth anatomy without
damaging the material. The
characteristic texture of natural teeth can also be reproduced using diamonds of different shapes. The set also includes the diamond disc
915D for interdental
contouring and cutting connectors. The various polishers in the Psychedelic Kit are also a real highlight.
The 9770G polisher can be used for both shaping and pre-polishing,
to finish the preparation down to the last detail. The flexible twist polishers create a high gloss
on restorations and preserve the original
surface structure thanks to the material-friendly design, while the goat hair brush with leather ensures a perfect finish.
Attractive innovations for effective work
The Occlusal Reduction diamonds are already an integral part of the MEISINGER
product portfolio. Thanks to their unique angled depth stop, the
special instruments enable precise occlusal reductions. This allows the user to precisely define the removal
, making these diamond instruments particularly suitable for the preparation of
ceramic crowns. MEISINGER has developed the new
Micro-Occlusal Reduction diamonds for the preparation of smaller teeth. With a reduced diameter
, they enable easier handling in the pre-moral area and in areas that are difficult to
reach. The
instruments combined in the Micro-Occlusal Reduction Diamond Kit also offer a better view of the working field.
The new preparation and polishing compass also includes a range of new instruments for the
processing of zirconia: These include the new Zircon Cut diamond discs, which facilitate the cutting of zirconium crowns and ceramic restorations thanks
to their solid workmanship. The diamond discs are available with preparation depths of 1.7 mm, 2.2 mm and 2.3 mm so that the cutting depth can be precisely determined in advance

The carrot technique established by Prof Dr Fouad Khoury is used for augmentation with
autologous drill core bone, which is obtained during preparation of the implant site.
MEISINGER offers two coordinated bone management® systems for
harvesting and secure fixation of the bone cylinders. The Trephine Ejection Kit is used for
minimally invasive bone harvesting. For simplified handling, the working parts of the
trephine are removable so that the bone cylinders can be removed
particularly easily. The bone can also be easily pushed out with the aid of the ejector instruments
, which are specially adapted to the trephine diameters. The set also includes
pre-coring trephines for safe trephine application. The osteosynthesis screws included in the Micro Screw Set
are also suitable for reliable fixation
of the harvested bone material. Thanks to their stable material properties, the
Micro Screws guarantee optimum hold and fatigue strength despite their delicate diameter. The Micro Screw systems can be used
for vertical, horizontal and three-dimensional
bone augmentation for different defect sizes.
Hand instruments for bone augmentation
Just in time for the International Dental Show 2021, MEISINGER is presenting three new systems for
the processing of hard and soft tissue. The new osteotomy set offers a perfect combination of specially
configured manual surgical instruments. In addition to
a well thought-out selection of manual instruments, such as high-quality periodontal probes,
curettes, scalpel blade holders, mouth mirrors, size-graded mouth wedges and various
scissors, needle holders, forceps, clamps, forceps, retractors and tongue depressors, the
kit contains in particular a customised, powerful Khoury probe as well as raspatories and sharp trays coordinated with Prof. Khoury
. To further facilitate the workflow, the
kit also includes a curved irrigation cannula with olive. The new soft tissue set was tailored to the soft tissue workflow in collaboration with Prof Dr Khoury at
. A special feature of the set is the
scalpel blade holder with swivelling head, which can be used to freely adjust the scalpel angle depending on the
treatment area. This simplifies handling, especially in hard-to-reach
areas. Another new feature is the sinus set for performing the
external sinus lift. The hand instruments coordinated with Prof Khoury support the
user in gently removing the Schneiderian membrane and inserting the
bone substitute material. To ensure a smooth procedure during the operation,
the set also includes an irrigation cannula with olive and a separate drill stand for positioning the
required rotary instruments.

A refreshed design in "MEISINGER orange" and a new logo: under the motto
"Orange is the new Pink", Hager & Meisinger presented the name change from "DENTAL RATIO" to "MEISINGER IMPLANTS" at the IDS last week
. The change of the
brand name and the change of colours from pink to orange are based on the
years of cooperation between the two companies: The OKTAGON implant system has been produced by Hager & Meisinger ever since
DENTAL RATIO was founded.
In addition, the Neuss-based medical technology company has held the exclusive distribution rights for the OKTAGON implant line for the German
market since 2019.
With the name change, both companies benefit not only from a uniform
appearance, but also from the strong "Hager & Meisinger" brand, which has been operating successfully in international markets for 133 years
"'Made by MEISINGER' not only stands for
high quality, but also for long-term product availability and service in line with
," says Sebastian Voss, one of the two managing directors of Hager &
Meisinger GmbH. The implant line is also the best proof that "Made in Germany"
does not necessarily go hand in hand with a high price. With an RRP of EUR 89,
provides users with a reliable, high-quality product at a favourable price
- "The power is in the quality.
With the OKTAGON implant, we have set ourselves the
goal of improving the healthcare and quality of life of as many people as possible with
high-quality dental products at a fair price," says Ulf-Christian Henschen, Managing Director of MEISINGER IMPLANTS.
The OKTAGON line is based on proven patent-free systems and develops these further
. The design of the implants is on a par with the originals in terms of success rates and, not least,
the product guarantee. The
implant system has also undergone continuous further development in recent years: In addition to Bone Level and Tissue Level implants
, a BLT implant is now also available. The portfolio is complemented by the
OKTAGON ROX-CERA with a highly biocompatible ceramic
corrosion protection layer made of titanium zirconium oxide.
Bone management systems for jaw bone augmentation
The integration of OKTAGON implants into the MEISINGER product family fits seamlessly into
the bone augmentation portfolio. MEISINGER has been at home in
implantology for over 40 years and has already developed
and produced products for many well-known implant companies. This experience also flows into the constant new and further development of
bone management systems, which are largely based on leading techniques such as the "Sausage
Technique" by Prof Istvan Urban or the "Carrot Technique" by Prof Fouad Khoury,
. The OKTAGON implants are also taken into account. For example,
the trephine diameters of the Trephine Ejection Kit, which is used to harvest autologous
bone grafts, are matched to the diameters of the implants. This provides
users with alternatives to all conventional pilot drills. MEISINGER
also offers solutions for
controlled root extraction with simultaneous preservation of the bone lamella and
minimally invasive bone condensing and bone spreading below the periosteum, which aim to optimally prepare the bone for implantation. For
Sebastian Voss, bone management is the key to success: "The more a practice
augments, the more it will be able to implant."

As the topics of dental surgery and implantology hardly
play a role at German universities, MEISINGER has developed a
multi-stage training concept on implantology and bone augmentation together with experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeons.
The so-called Bone Management Academy is already supported worldwide by renowned
opinion leaders and has another training location in Neuss.
The Bone Management Academy is aimed at both beginners and professionals. For example,
the Young dental
experts Camps, which take place twice a year, offer initial guidance for specialisation in the field of implantology at the end of university training.
The Bone Management Academy also gives prospective surgeons the
opportunity to acquire solid basic knowledge. The correct suturing and cutting techniques are
just as important as the correct understanding of soft and hard tissue.
The first courses will start in autumn 2021 in Neuss and at various locations in
Germany. The Bone Management Roadshow 2021/22 will provide insights into augmentation techniques such as bone splitting, bone spreading and
synthetic bone replacement materials.
further series of courses will also give participants the opportunity to learn more about the carrot technique developed by Dr
Fouad Khoury and apply it in practice. In
this year and next, a total of ten workshops will be held in five cities.
The main motivation for all events is the continuously increasing added value
for the participants. The focus is therefore not only on the high-quality products "Made in
Germany", but above all on the correct and professional application of these products.
The Bone Management Academy therefore does not shy away from competing
treatment methods and cooperates with numerous other companies. If the
participants consider certain techniques to be good, the corresponding products
can first be tried out and practised intensively in workshops. Additional work shadowing
and supervision offer further opportunities to familiarise oneself with the various augmentation techniques
and thus make an informed decision.

The topics of implantology and oral surgery are becoming increasingly popular among students of
dentistry and assistant dentists. Hager & Meisinger has made it its
mission to give young dentists an insight into the surgical
side of dentistry. The Young dental experts Camps offer students from the
6th semester onwards and graduates in their final year. The Young dental experts Camps offer students from the
6th semester and graduates in their residency the opportunity to expand their knowledge in numerous workshops and specialist lectures.
Beginners' course for students and residents
The excursion into the world of oral surgery takes place in summer and winter against the impressive
mountain backdrop of Zell am See in Austria. At least twice a year, the
camps cover a wide range of specialised
topics with various specialist lectures and skills labs. The topics range from suturing and incision techniques to
augmentation procedures and implant placement. In order to provide a comprehensive overview of
different subject areas and perspectives, the organiser is also cooperating
with several partner companies who will be contributing in the form of a workshop or specialist lecture
. With Maximilian Voß and Felix Roth, the young dentists are also supported by
representatives of the Federal Association of Dental Alumni (BDZA). The
camp will take place under the scientific direction of PD Dr Dr Florian Bauer from Miesbach.
Lutz Grätz has been in charge of all activities offered by Meisinger to accompany the
university training programme from the very beginning: "It is important for us to convey the content objectively and neutrally to
in order to give the participants a good initial overview. We want
people to be able to familiarise themselves with the diverse techniques of
implantology in an informal atmosphere."
Equalisation in Austrian mountain scenery
During our courses, the personal exchange between the participants and
with the organisers is not neglected," says Yannick Wienecke, university supervisor at the
company Meisinger.
While in summer the mountains invite you to go for a hike in the countryside, in winter the
mountain scenery can be used for an evening walk in the snow. The evening events in the cosy
ambience of the inn and a joint excursion to the Pfefferbauer snack station followed by a torchlight hike at
offer plenty of
opportunity for personal exchange.
Registration for the SummerCamp on 18 - 21 August 2021 and the WinterCamp on
19 - 22 March 2022 can be found on the website www.meisinger.de.
The university counsellors Lutz Grätz and Yannick Wienecke are available to answer any questions.
