IDS 2023: Innovative Weiterentwicklung der Bone Management® Produktlinie von Hager & Meisinger

Auf die Gäste der Internationalen Dental-Schau 2023 wartet am Messestand der Hager & Meisinger GmbH eine große Bandbreite an Neuheiten aus der Bone Management® Produktlinie. Zu den Highlights zählen zum 100. Jubiläum der Leitmesse die Erweiterung der Khoury-Line sowie eine Weiterentwicklung des Knochen-Pins nach Prof. Dr. Istvan Urban.

Hand instruments for even better hard and soft tissue processing

With the Khoury Line, developed in cooperation with Prof Dr Fouad Khoury, Hager & Meisinger is setting new standards in jaw bone augmentation with autologous bone material. The Bone Management® systems Micro Screw Basic and Professional and the Trephine Ejection Kit, which are combined in the product line, are suitable for bone augmentation with autologous drill core bone (carrot technique), among other things. Three additional systems have been added to the Khoury line to provide practitioners with even better support during implant treatment

MEISINGER will be presenting three new systems for processing hard and soft tissue at the International Dental Show 2023. The new East Tray includes a large selection of different hand instruments for oral surgery. In addition to a compilation of manual instruments coordinated with Prof. Khoury, the kit contains an individually designed, powerful Khoury probe as well as raspatories and sharp trays tailored to Prof. Khoury.

Another innovation is the sinus tray for use in external sinus lift. The hand instruments coordinated with Prof Khoury support the user in safely detaching and lifting the Schneiderian membrane and inserting the bone replacement material. A Bur Block, also integrated in the kit, provides additional space for additional rotary instruments, which are required for opening the lateral window, for example. MEISINGER offers an optional irrigation cannula to match the kit.

The new soft tissue tray was tailored to the workflow in soft tissue processing in collaboration with Prof Dr Khoury. A special feature is the scalpel blade holder with swivelling head included in the set, which allows the scalpel angle to be freely adjusted depending on the area to be treated, making handling easier, especially in areas that are difficult to access.

New generation of bone pins according to Prof. Dr Istvan Urban

The Master-Line developed with Prof. Istvan Urban has been extended by an innovative new development : The Master-Pin-System Plus offers a further pin design to choose from in addition to the tried and tested Master-Pin for fixing membranes. Thanks to its flat head, the newly developed pin can also be used with thin soft tissue without losing stability. In addition, the flatter head is less noticeable under the soft tissue, which can go hand in hand with greater patient acceptance.

Both the old and the new pin design are characterised by their particular stability. The pins, which are made of a grade 5 titanium alloy, can therefore be attached to the cortical bone without bending or breaking

MEISINGER Prep & Match
A smooth surface and a precise preparation margin are the best starting point for a durable well-fitting restoration and therefore also for a long-lasting crown and bridge restoration. With the new Prep & Match Arkansas grinders, MEISINGER offers the right instruments for a successful preparation. The grinders have the same shape and angle as the tried-and-tested preparation diamonds. This means that the dies can be reworked after preparation with the precisely matching Arkansas grinder. This allows irregular surfaces and loosened enamel prisms to be smoothed effortlessly, which improves the quality of the surface many times over. The preparation margin can also be finished more precisely, which also significantly minimises the risk of secondary caries. This perfect combination of preparation instrument and Arkansas grinder is ideal for chamfer and shoulder preparations.
MEISINGER SINGLES - disposable instruments for hygienic work
With the MEISINGER SINGLES for single-use, MEISINGER offers the optimum solution for efficient and hygienic working. The use of single-use diamond and carbide instruments and disposable polishers eliminates the need for time-consuming reprocessing of the instruments, which can make everyday work in the dental practice much easier. In addition, the risk of cross-contamination is significantly reduced. The range of instruments covers a wide spectrum of daily work in the practice, from prophylaxis to the final polishing of composites: In addition to diamond and carbide instruments, MEISINGER also offers disposable polishers as practical single-use instruments. The SINGLE Diamonds and Carbides are already sterilised, individually packaged and housed in a practical dispenser and can therefore be used directly on the patient . The disposable polishers from MEISINGER can also be easily distinguished from conventional polishers with their characteristic orange shaft.
Efficient occlusal reduction
Occlusal reduction diamonds are already an integral part of the MEISINGER product portfolio. Thanks to their unique angled depth stop, the special instruments enable precise occlusal reductions. This allows the user to precisely define the removal , making these diamond instruments particularly suitable for the preparation of ceramic crowns. To further optimise the processing of smaller teeth, MEISINGER has also developed the new Micro-Occlusal Reduction diamonds. With a reduced diameter , they enable easier handling in the pre-moral area and in hard-to-reach areas. The instruments combined in the Micro-Occlusal Reduction Diamond Kit also offer a better view of the working field.
Three new dental sets for CEREC users
In cooperation with Dentsply Sirona, Hager & Meisinger has developed three new polishing sets for the intraoral and extraoral area. The three sets comprise a customised selection of instruments for the latest materials from Dentsply Sirona. The customised instrument set offers the user greater safety and precision when working with various restorative materials. The Dentsply Sirona Zirconia Intraoral Polishing Kit provides the user with the optimum combination of twist polishers and a diamond for processing zirconia materials. The kit is particularly suitable for CEREC MTL™ zirconia. MEISINGER has developed the Dentsply Sirona Glass Ceramic Intraoral Polishing Kit with three twist polishers and an egg-shaped diamond for processing glass ceramics such as CEREC Tessera™.
The Dentsply Sirona Universal Extraoral Polishing & Shaping Kit also includes a compilation of MEISINGER instruments for restorations with CEREC MTL™ Zirconia and CEREC Tessera™. To cover a wide range of applications and material requirements , this set includes a broader selection of MEISINGER instruments. For example, the set includes various diamonds to reproduce the characteristic texture of natural teeth to MEISINGER polishers and four twist polishers ensure a high-gloss finish. A diamond disc can be used for interdental contouring and separating connectors .

Final Touch & Polishing Kit: Safe finish for CEREC® materials
Modern CAD/CAM materials make it possible to finalise restorations without additional firing . For CEREC® restorations, the Final Touch and Polishing Kit offers carefully selected instruments with which highly aesthetic results can be achieved without much effort. The kit includes a diamond disc and a ceramic bur for cutting and veneering tapping points as well as a shaping diamond, which can be used to prepare the material for subsequent processing . A combination of elastic polishers and twist polishers ensures optimum pre-polishing, polishing and a high-gloss finish. The kit also includes two goat hair brushes with a leather buff, which can be used with a polishing paste to achieve an even higher gloss level
Zirconia Processing Kit: Gentle processing of zirconium oxide before sintering
Corrections to zirconia can be carried out very easily before sintering. At the same time, the material is very sensitive at this stage, meaning that defects can quickly occur. The Initial Zirconia Processing Kit contains a carbide bur and three differently shaped elastic polishers, which are ideal for processing the brittle material. The cross-toothed tungsten carbide bur is used to cut off tapping points, which can be levelled with a size 050 universal polisher. A slim conical polisher is used to correct the preparation margin in order to smooth frayed edges and uneven areas. For processing the interdental areas, the kit also contains a flexible polishing disc that fits the profile precisely
CAD/CAM Acrylics Processing Kit: High gloss for printed occlusal splints
Printed occlusal splints are made of a soft acrylic that tends to smear during polishing . A high-gloss finish can therefore only be achieved with perfectly customised instruments . The CAD/CAM Acrylics Processing Kit provides the user with a sophisticated set of instruments. The tungsten carbide burs included in the kit enable problem-free finishing of CAD/CAM acrylics. For pre-polishing, a size 100 elastic polisher is provided, which is robust enough to carry out even minor mould corrections. The fibre fleece brushes also included ensure a high gloss, without overheating or damaging the material. The 155 polishing brush with polishing paste can also be used to achieve a high-gloss surface .

Hager & Meisinger's Bone Management® portfolio includes a wide range of surgical systems for the safe augmentation of the bony implant site. The perfectly harmonised systems provide the user with the right instrument combination for specific surgical techniques and thus enable more effective and precise work as well as more predictable results.
With the new MEISINGER DIGITAL service, Hager & Meisinger combines the possibilities of digital dentistry with the proven Bone Management® portfolio. For even easier handling, the Neuss-based dental company has developed Surgery Guides (surgical templates) , which offer users greater confidence when implementing bone management® techniques . With the guides, which are customised for each patient situation, both patients and practitioners benefit from a very precise and safe procedure and significantly more aesthetic results.
Guided augmentation with autologous core bone
For exposed implant necks, bone augmentation with the patient's own bone is still considered the gold standard. The carrot technique according to Prof Dr Fouad Khoury enables stable core bone to be harvested directly from the implant site and transplanted. The bone material required for augmentation is therefore used efficiently and a second harvesting site is not necessary. The user can also dispense with the more time-consuming pilot drilling.
Hager & Meisinger has developed the Trephine Ejection Kit together with Prof Khoury for the optimal implementation of the carrot technique. The internally cooled two-part trephine contained in the kit enables precise and safe removal of the bone carrot. The Surgery Guide specially developed for this technique also enables even safer realisation of the carrot technique. The position and axis of the trephine hole can be precisely determined using the surgical guide. The gain in anatomical information determined by 3D data also enables precise determination of the optimum drilling depth. In order to maintain this, Hager & Meisinger has also developed stop sleeves which, in combination with a surgery guide, ensure an automatic depth stop during trephine drilling.
Bone splitting and bone spreading
Crest-Control is a proven system for gentle widening of the alveolar ridge in the case of horizontal bone deficits. In order to optimally prepare the bone for implant placement, the system includes horizontal spreaders with which the alveolar ridge is widened easily, quickly and in a controlled manner by up to 5 mm so that an implant can then be placed in the widened segment . The Split Control System also provides the user with a range of different screw-shaped spreaders that can be used to gently expand horizontally resorbed bone in a controlled manner (bone spreading). Due to their special geometry, cancellous bone is also compacted (bone condensing), which increases the primary stability of the inserted implants .
The splitting of the alveolar ridge with a separating disc required for both techniques can also be performed using a surgical guide. The incision can be made precisely with the guided procedure, particularly when there is little bone available. Incisions that are too long or incorrectly positioned are therefore avoided. In addition, thanks to digital planning, the future implant position can already be taken into account during the incision.
Surgery guides for the entire bone management® portfolio
As with the carrot technique as well as bone splitting and bone spreading, digital planning can provide support for any augmentation procedure. For example, a trephine from the Trephine Ejection Kit can also be used for a controlled root tip resection, where the position and depth of the tooth root can be precisely defined in advance using a customised drilling template . The anatomical conditions can also be precisely determined during a sinus lift so that, for example, the risk of damaging the Schneiderian membrane can be minimised. The guided procedure offers less experienced practitioners in particular more control and safety during the procedure.

Digital implant planning
Modern 3D diagnostics means a major gain in reliability and predictability for implant restorations. With MEISINGER DIGITAL, the dentist has a specialised contact for the digital planning of implant treatments, who creates predictable individual solutions based on patient data. Thanks to reliable advance information on the optimum implant position and abutment selection, digital planning guarantees predictable and reproducible results. Thanks to a multi-stage service model, MEISINGER DIGITAL offers the greatest possible flexibility in addition to maximum safety. On request, the complete implant planning as well as the design and printing of the surgical guide can be taken over by MEISINGER.
For even better handling of the surgical systems from the Bone Management® product line , MEISINGER also offers surgical guides, which further simplify the realisation of augmentation procedures.
Customised prosthetics
Hager & Meisinger rounds off its new service offering with its range of customised prosthetics. Practitioners and patients can rely on high-quality dentures "Made in Germany" . From the gingiva former to the abutment customised to the respective patient situation to the ceramic crown , the service covers the entire range of customised prosthetic restorations.
Users of the OKTAGON® implant system can utilise both the implant and the perfectly coordinated prosthetics directly from a single source and thus offer their patients an increased level of individual aesthetics.
MEISINGER "Digital Chairside Solution" (DCS)
The MEISINGER "Digital Chairside Solution" (DCS) is a practical all-round package that supports the user in a smooth chairside process. The solution includes a perfectly harmonised combination of an intraoral scanner, the appropriate CAD software and a state-of-the-art milling machine.
The DCS scanner, which is comparable with current premium scanners, creates an extremely efficient scan of the patient situation in just a few seconds. The open system can be seamlessly integrated into CAD software systems and allows the scan data to be exported in all common file formats. Thanks to integrated artificial intelligence, the user is also relieved of the task of cutting out scan areas. The exocad Chairside CAD software, which can be used to create the final design in just a few clicks, also ensures a smooth chairside process. Thanks to automation and a customised workflow, the system is ideal for use in a clinical environment.
The MEISINGER DCS Pro 4 & Pro 5 milling machines from imes-icore® offer complete freedom in terms of indication and material selection thanks to 4- or 5-axis simultaneous technology. The machines support wet milling and - just like the CEREC® MC XL or CEREC® Primemill - dry milling. imes-icore® is also the first manufacturer in the world to have a fully integrated open system, which can be combined with other products from other brands and all standard intraoral scanners.
